The Department of International Relations invites applications for Department Coordinator position to provide day-to-day administrative and organizational support to the department, its students and faculty members. The position is set to start on December 1st.

Background

The Department of International Relations engages students in the empirical and theoretical study of issues of global order and politics, international political economy, as well as conflict and security.

The department offers both one- and two-year Master-degree programs to its approximately 80 students and also supports the research activity of doctoral students specializing in International Relations.

Your Duties and Responsibilities

  • Providing day-to-day assistance and support to students and faculty members
  • Providing coordination and administration for two-year Master's program
  • Organizing departmental events (workshops, conferences, public lectures, field trips, etc.)
  • Maintain alumni contacts
  • Support the administration of the academic programs (student and department recruitment and admissions, course enrollment, administering records, credit and grade entry, data maintenance)
  • Managing the website and social media of the department
  • Handling day-to-day operation and technical problems

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • At least 3 years of working experience in a position with similar tasks, ideally in higher education
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Self-starter and self-manager: Takes initiative, anticipates needs, and gets things done consistently on time.
  • Flexibility and reliability
  • Responsive: We are committed to a high level of responsiveness across the university, with our students and corporate contacts
  • Positive attitude: The ideal candidate needs to have a "can-do" attitude
  • Experience with some or all the technology platforms that we use (Drupal website management, social media platforms, Microsoft O365 and Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to embrace and learn new technology quickly (SAP)

We offer a competitive salary starting from gross 45,000 EUR/year. A higher salary is possible if warranted by the candidate's working experience.
