Digital Transformation and Automation Specialist (m/f/d) (MW431101)

Siemens Technology is looking for a dynamic Digital Transformation and Automation Specialist (m/f/d) to join our Sustainable Automation Solutions Research Group and support our Siemens business units and end customers in Austria and Europe. The right person will have a strong business background in the manufacturing and/or process industry as well as a technical passion for IT and OT technologies to design industrial solutions from a connectivity level up to AI-based processing pipelines in PLM and Manufacturing Execution Systems from concept to completion!

You will research in the area of industrial software and automation systems with focus on intelligent systems using machine learning and robotic technologies.

  • Develop value-adding solution strategies and provide active solution consulting for our customers in the manufacturing and process industry.
  • Coordinate complex evaluation projects and benchmarks, develop added value for the customer, and as a 'trusted advisor', identify potential improvements along the value chain.
  • Engage in co-creation projects for complete customer solutions, including ideation, architecture, design, implementation, and deployment of end-to-end systems.
  • Drive evolving Research Roads for industrial horizontal integration and AI infrastructure for automation, integrating industrial workflows from along MES and PLM level within the company and together with external customers.
  • Define, research, and implement AI-based solutions in manufacturing industries, integrating with MES level components for integrated product lifecycle management, intelligent traceability, quality analytics, recipe management and workflow orchestration.
  • Focus on architecting business workflows and implementing analytics solutions integrated along PLM and MES level and integration to shopfloor to drive customers business and industry adaptation.
  • Lead projects consisting of other Research Scientists, Software Developers, industry customers, business unit and research partners and system integrators on developing end-to-end industrial automation solutions.
  • Consult with appropriate groups inside and outside of Siemens AG for complex domestic and international projects.

What you need to make real what matters.

  • Master's degree in technical or economical field, e.g. engineering, industrial engineering, software/system engineering, computer science, information technology, electrical engineering or similar (PhD is a plus)
  • 3+ years of professional experience as a business innovation specialist or business consultant, preferably in the manufacturing industry and in the field of digitalization along PLM and MES level.
  • 3+ years of experience in horizontal integration along the product life cycle and the integration of IT systems.
  • High affinity for technology and innovation projects with strong analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Independent and structured way of working and ability to work in a team.
  • Strong communication skills and enjoy working with customers with occasional travels to our customers on site.
  • Knowledge in Siemens Software solutions is a plus (e.g. Industrial Edge & AI, Opcenter, Teamcenter, Tecnomatix ProcessSimulate, Totally Integrated Automation portfolio, PLCSim Adv.) is a plus.

  • Capable of presenting complex technical topics in a clear and structured way, ability to moderate discussions, meetings, and projects both with upper management and research collaboration partners
  • Curiosity to ask questions and find innovative solutions to technical challenges.

What we offer.

Our compensation and benefits package includes a competitive base annual salary starts at min. EUR63.738,- (fulltime based) and can substantially raise based on your already achieved education and experience levels. Also working parttime up from 30h/per week is possible.
