Your challenge:

  • Financial Reporting and Consolidation: Lead the preparation and consolidation of financial statements for the group, ensuring they comply with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements. Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Standards: Ensure all accounting practices adhere to regulatory requirements and internal policies. Stay updated with changes in financial regulations and standards, implementing necessary adjustments to accounting practices.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard financial assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
  • Audit Management: Coordinate with internal and external auditors to complete audits, addressing any audit findings and implementing recommended changes.
  • Tax Strategy and Compliance: Oversee tax planning to optimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with tax regulations in all jurisdictions the group operates.
  • Future Team Leadership and Development: Establish the group accounting function (with your team) across different divisions, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Financial Advice: Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization; optimize the financial performance and strategic position of the company.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree or professional accounting qualification highly preferred or extensive professional experience
  • Extensive experience in accounting, ideally within a similar role or at a senior level in a large organization, with at least 5-7 years in a managerial capacity
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations
  • Experience as a team lead in a finance function is an advantage
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English, both verbal and written
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to manage and inspire a diverse team
  • Excellent analytical, strategic and solution-oriented thinking
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ethical behavior and business acumen to ensure the integrity of financial data
  • Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision-making and collaborate with other departments to achieve the company's financial goals
