About the job

As the Head of Pioneer Research at RHI Magnesita, you will be leading a team of highly skilled Project Managers and will be responsible for translating the corporate strategy into specific ideas and innovative projects. Together with your team, you will try to anticipate the future of the refractories business and initiate a portfolio of disruptive solutions and technologies that align with the company's strategic mission and objectives. You will also work to foster creativity within the Pioneer Research team by implementing processes and tools to enhance idea generation. In addition, you will collaborate closely with the global R&D organization and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the desirability, feasibility, and viability of projects. In this role, you will be travelling up to 10% of your work time.

In addition, your tasks will include

  • Developing tools and solutions to translate company strategy into a portfolio of innovation initiatives and projects
  • Managing interfaces with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success
  • Identifying strategic partners and collaborations to accelerate project execution
  • Coordinating interfaces within the scope of already established collaborations
  • Overseeing funding activities in collaboration with the Innovation Management team

About You

You are an enthusiastic scientist/engineer who is keen to co-shape the future of our line of business. You see the big picture and are able to translate the global strategy into concrete actions and game changer projects for the Innovation & Global R&D organization. You are an innovative and creative individual who manages to bring others onboard to work towards a common goal. You have strong analytical skills. You enjoy leading a diverse team with people from different cultural backgrounds.

What we expect from you in terms of

Education & Skills

  • Higher technical education (MSc or PhD in either, physics, chemistry, ceramics, material science, process engineering (or similar course of studies))
  • Solid leadership and management skills

Languages

  • English - Proficient/Fluent
  • German - Proficient/Fluent
  • Any other language is considered as an asset

Work Experience

  • Several of experience in a technical and leadership function, ideally in the Refractory business or in the field of Ceramics applications

The annual gross salary for this position will start from EUR 95.000,00 on a full-time basis, depending on your qualification and experience, as well as your level of seniority. We will make sure to offer you a competitive salary package that values your relevant background and that's in line with market values.
