Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Developer (f/m/d) you are responsible for the modernization of our Eclipse IDE customizations.

• Modernization of the Eclipse IDE customizations: You transfer our existing functionality into new & modern customizations & tools.
• Migration to standard technologies: In your job you use current standard technologies such as Gradle.
• Ensuring developer productivity: You ensure that productivity remains high throughout the modernization process.
• Enabling the use of other IDEs: Through your work, you enable the use of other IDEs such as IntelliJ or VS Code in addition to our Eclipse-based IDE.
• Maintaining and updating the existing IDE: You keep the IDE up to date through continuous maintenance and updates.
• Contributing ideas to the Eclipse Foundation IDE Working Group: You will actively contribute ideas to our members in the Eclipse Foundation IDE Working Group.

Profile

• You have several years of programming experience in Java.
• Improving the user-friendliness and performance of our development environment is important to you.
• Ideally you have experience with Gradle, Eclipse & JUnit.
• You have the ability to familiarize yourself quickly and efficiently with other people's code.
• You are characterized by an independent way of working.
• You have an affinity for the open source world.
• You have a good command of English; knowledge of German is an advantage.
• You are willing to travel internationally (approx. 5%).

Possible start date: immediately

We offer you for this position a monthly minimum gross salary (starting level) of EUR4.215,00 on a full time basis (38.5 hrs/week). The actual salary is calculated on the basis of previous periods of service, qualification, professional experience and the collective agreement.
