The Team Corporate Underwriting & Analysis is part of the Corporate Risk Management Division of Erste Group (Holding) and consists of a fair mix of underwriters and credit analysts. It deals with corporate risk matters of Austrian and International Corporate Clients with strong focus on CEE. Besides the core competence which is credit decisions, this also includes the comprehensive and group wide analysis of large corporate as well as SME customers as part of the credit decision process. Furthermore the credit analysts in the team prepare peer groups for selected industries and offer a wide range of internal trainings. The analyst closely works together with the underwriters in the team, but also with Corporate Sales as well as with all Erste Holding´s subsidiaries.

Your Tasks

  • Analysis of Austrian and international corporates of different sizes and complexity (SMEs and large corporates), including the assessment of the respective business model, market environment, industry and creditworthiness using a strong forward-looking approach
  • Assessment of financial statements (local GAAP's, IFRS, US-GAAP)
  • Preparation of respective peer groups and market research
  • Knowledge of the Construction industry is of advantage
  • Application of internal rating regulations and provision of expert rating decisions
  • Contribution to various Group and Department projects

Your Background

  • University degree in business administration
  • At least a 3-year experience in corporate credit analysis/research, corporate risk management environment or specialized finance - ideally in an international environment
  • Alternatively, proven experience in the sales-side structuring or Risk assessment of companies
  • Very good knowledge of accounting standards (local GAAP, IFRS and US-GAAP)
  • Excellent analytical, writing and presentation skills in English and German to present complex issues concisely
  • Readiness to cooperate with colleagues of other departments/ CEE subsidiaries in a multi-cultural environment
  • Open-minded, result- and target-oriented as well as flexibility and resilience to perform in a fast-paced environment
