The unit Audit Risk Models is responsible for performing audits in Erste Group Bank AG, its subsidiaries and Austrian legal entities part of the Erste Group with major focus on auditing credit, market, liquidity and operational risk and related models and methodologies, own funds requirements related processes as well as the adherence to specific laws and regulations. A second responsibility is the coordination of audit activities within Erste Group for the audit area of responsibility.

Your Tasks

  • Perform reviews and assessments of the bank's market & liquidity risk methodologies and metrics (e.g. FRTB, IRRBB, CSRBB, FXRBB, LCR, NFSR) and their validation as part of the group audit team in Austria and in cooperation with colleagues in our subsidiaries
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and to ensure that the bank's market and liquidity risk policies, frameworks, governance and internal controls for the banking book are adequate and functioning properly
  • Accompany the regulatory model examination and approval process
  • Support our audit units in CEE countries and Austrian saving banks concerning market and liquidity risk audit topics
  • You will be responsible to develop or tailor audit programs based on common audit standards, carry out fieldwork, prepare audit reports and drafting and reconciliation of audit findings and recommendations

Your Background

  • A university degree in Mathematics, Econometrics or Statistics as well as experience in audit, credit risk area of minimum 3 years - ideally, you already have an audit relevant certification (such as CIA, CFA etc.) or are in the process of obtaining certification
  • Proficient knowledge in data analytics/data mining, preferably with experience in SAS/Python/R programming
  • Knowledge of the banking regulatory framework and specific knowledge of market risk relevant regulations
  • Willingness to learn and continuously expand your professional knowledge, with the ability to quickly understand and assess a diverse set of potential problems and formalize solution proposals.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, client-oriented, with the ability to work both independently and in a team
  • Willingness to travel and participate in audits performed in CEE countries, holding a driver's license B, and having strong written and verbal communication skills in German and English (other CEE languages are an asset)
