HR Manager (m/w/d)
HARPS Europe is part of HARPS Global, a fast-growing global manufacturer and end-to-end distributor of medical and industrial gloves. HARPS Global was founded in 2015 by Malaysian entrepreneur Haziq Bin Zairel Oh, followed by the acquisition of Sempermed (formerly Semperit) by HARPS in 2023. The production plant in Wimpassing has more than 100 years of experience in the manufacture of gloves and specializes in the production of surgical gloves. The corporation employs over 5000 employees across 17 countries, predominantly in Asia and Europe.
We are looking for a experienced HR Manager (m/w/d) located in Vienna.
The role
In this role you are the responsible HR-Manager issues at the European Headquarters with approx. 60 employees, located in Austria, Hungary, UK, Germany, France, Poland and Puerto Rico.
The HR Manager will collaborate closely with the Senior Vice President Commercial, Finance Director, and other senior leaders to deliver HR management and support across Europe. Following company's global recent acquisition, there is ongoing integration work to embed organizational changes. The HR Manager will also play a key role in advancing HR function development and integration. Reporting to the Global HRBP, this stand-alone role will work with HR Managers in other locations as well as other members of the global HR Team to ensure seamless cooperation and collaboration.
Responsibilities
The HR Manager Europe will be instrumental in delivering comprehensive support to local management and employees. Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as the main HR contact on all HR-related matters (approx. 55 employees in 7 countries).
- Collaborating closely with local senior managers and departments to provide end to end HR and people management support.
- Preparation of monthly payroll accounting and interface to external payroll accounting. Administration of the time recording system in AT (reports for payroll, travel expense processing, etc.)
- Management of employee data, documents and company cars.
- Advice on labour law matters and ensuring the compliance with labour law regulations, including lead expertise in Austrian employer relations matters.
- Facilitating clear and effective internal communication regarding HR policies, updates, and other relevant employee information.
- Overseeing the full employee lifecycle.
- Implementing annual HR processes, such as performance management, salary reviews and incentive/bonuses.
- Adapting HR processes and tools to meet both external and internal requirements, including legal updates, policy changes, and technical system enhancements.
- Contributing to organizational and functional planning, structuring, and improving organizational efficiency with a focus on specific HR requirements and processes.
- Reviewing and updating local HR practices to meet organizational needs and improve efficiency.
- Establishing consistent HR standards to ensure a compliant, uniform work environment and support internal/external audits.
- Occasionally travelling to other sites in Austria and Hungary, providing backup for the 2 HR Managers in these locations as needed.
Requirements
- Finished studies in HR Management or Business Administration (with HR focus); alternatively, a vocational HR qualification (e.g., HR Specialist).
- At least 2 years solid experience as an HR Manager or a minimum of 5 years in a similar international HR position (HR Generalist/HR Business Partner).
- Perfect in German and English both verbal and written.
- Strong understanding of local labor law (international knowledge beneficial) and experience with payroll.
- Experience ensuring compliance with international tax and payroll regulations, collaborating with external payroll and tax advisors.
- Knowledge of global HR management practices, including talent acquisition, performance management, and employee relations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural, multilingual environment.
