In our Power and Sensor Systems (PSS) Division in Villach we develop world leading power semiconductor technologies for efficient and high-density power conversion solutions. As Product Application Engineer you will support discrete MOSFETs and contribute to the definition and marketing of our new technologies. You will work in an international team and interact with various groups within and outside the organization. You will also provide technical customer support and promote our power MOSFETs to ensure design-wins.

Job description

In your new job you will:

  • Identify application trends and future requirements through customer discussions and internal experts
  • Assess innovative product ideas and directly influence product roadmaps for small signal MOSFETs and low voltage OptiMOS
  • Define product requirements, create target datasheets, and develop go-to-market materials like application notes and evaluation boards
  • Serve as the technical interface between R&D teams and customers
  • Analyze and assess topologies and application conditions through simulations, prototype measurements and benchmarking for target applications
  • Contribute design-in to design-win activities with leading customers
  • Conduct technical discussions, coordinate requirements, and support product validation in system design
  • Collaborate closely with regional field application engineering (FAE) teams
  • Prepare and provide technical documentation and training on product and application levels

Profile

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

  • A degree in electrical engineering, power electronics, physics or a related field, a PhD is a Plus
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in power electronics (automotive, industrial, consumer) in the semiconductor industry, at a research institute or as a hardware designer for power systems (e.g. in Application Engineering, System Engineering, Technical Marketing)
  • Experience in setting up and running tests for power components
  • Know-how in the creation of technical articles, presentations containing complex technical content
  • Proven ability to navigate complex problems, providing technical guidance to teams and consolidating their efforts towards solutions
  • Comfortable interfacing with customers and bridging the gap between internal R&D and external partners
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, including the possibility of intercontinental trips
  • Very good communication and presentation skills in English

We offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your performance, experience and qualification. The employment is in accordance with the collective salary and wage agreement for employees of the electrical and electronics industry, employment group H (https://www.feei.at/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/minimum-salaries-white-collar-workers-2024.pdf). The monthly salary is paid 14 times p.a. We offer a higher compensation depending on your expertise and skills.
